Absolutely love Joanna’s style and beautiful images in the book。 Although I don’t like farmhouse and I’m more into Scandinavian interiors, this is a beautiful book with great insights and advices on design

I really enjoyed this book and all the amazing photos。 I agree with others that there may have been missed opportunities for more instructional information however, I believe the author was going more for guiding the reading to using their imagination and creating a space meant for the individual。 4/5 ⭐️ 🏡💕

Гарні картинки, але тексти дуже загальні і абстрактні。 Більше для натхнення, ніж для практичного застосування。

Believe it or not, this was actually an enjoyable book to read, not just one filled with pretty photos。 I liked how it was organized and picked up quite a few tips that I can easily introduce into our home when we update in the coming year。 I can definitely see why Joanna Gaines is such a star these days。 If she’s anything like she appears to be in this book, she’s down-to-earth and would be nice to chat with over a cup of coffee sitting in a beautifully designed, functional space。

I took my time and read this book slowly, In small increments。 I read every page, every word, and always leave Joanna’s work feeling uplifted。 She has such a way of seeing family and home life that speaks to me。 Lots of good words mixed in with the beautiful pictures。 Im sure Rick can’t wait for all my project ideas。 A book I’m glad to own and have bought。

I personally loved this book and have read it twice。 As someone who knows very little about home design, I feel like Joanna gives a lot of good ideas, tackling each chapter room by room。 The best part is her philosophy and approach, which can be applied to places large and small。 Unlike some design books she really makes it about what you love, what makes you feel at home, as supposed to making something look nice and trendy。 I think she gives small tips for each space on a budget that's large o I personally loved this book and have read it twice。 As someone who knows very little about home design, I feel like Joanna gives a lot of good ideas, tackling each chapter room by room。 The best part is her philosophy and approach, which can be applied to places large and small。 Unlike some design books she really makes it about what you love, what makes you feel at home, as supposed to making something look nice and trendy。 I think she gives small tips for each space on a budget that's large or small。 It's light on text, heavy on photos, which makes it wonderful to peruse and get inspiration。 That said, many of the homes are similarly monotone, so there's not a huge variety。 。。。more

Enjoyed reading, but not a huge variety of design or colour palettes。 Although Joanna stressed the importance of having ‘pieces that are meaningful to the owner, old letters and small mementos hung as art and arranged on shelves, reminders of where we’ve been and what we hold dear’, unfortunately they had been styled out of the rooms prior to the pictures being taken - it would have been nice to see them。

An amazing little Guide to creating spaces that you’ll love。 I loved the structure of the book and the fact that there were little introductory parts and stories before she headed over to her tips & pictures。 Looks beautiful on a shelf or coffee table too! Highly recommend it ⭐️

This has been my nightstand book for the last month- what a treat! The powerhouse that is Joanna Gaines has quietly delivered design advice through the show and other books for years now, and this is an excellent addition to the collection。 The design of the book itself is stunning as well!

I read up to page 91 wishing the whole time that the book was set up by individual houses instead of by type of room as I kept referring back to the type of houses that the author had gone into detail about at the beginning。 After that I just skimmed instead of reading each page。

This was very helpful in helping me identify my style。 And once I knew what my style was called it helped me look for pieces of furniture and accessories to go with our remodeling。

I suck at all things home decor and style。 This book helped me find my way and eased my anxiety to decorating my home。

。。more

The beautiful photos deserve more stars, however I rated on it's usefulness to my home。The homes, the kitchen appliances, and furniture cost so much more than most every-day people living in their lovely (but unassuming) homes can afford。 I love Joanna sense of style but I will caution you that looking at this book and wishing that you had the money to do rooms that copy the ones in this book can be discouraging。I found that watching decorating on YouTube was more informative and you got advise The beautiful photos deserve more stars, however I rated on it's usefulness to my home。The homes, the kitchen appliances, and furniture cost so much more than most every-day people living in their lovely (but unassuming) homes can afford。 I love Joanna sense of style but I will caution you that looking at this book and wishing that you had the money to do rooms that copy the ones in this book can be discouraging。I found that watching decorating on YouTube was more informative and you got advise on working within a budget and where to shop on a budget and basically to decorate with pieces that you love and then you will love your home。 That advise I can use!! 。。。more

Yes, the author has established a design aesthetic that is trending now, and may already be on it’s way out。 However, the ideas she presents about attention to detail, how to personalize a space, making room for what’s important, and making every person in the house feel like they can see themselves in the space, are timeless。 As someone with more eclectic tastes, I would have liked to see more colors and styles to exemplify incorporating the ideas of the owners, but that would have made for a less pleasing, less beautiful book。 The strict neutrality of the palate lining the applications of the design ideas to any but those with the most imagination。 But the strict adherence to her palatte, her taste, and her style, make Joanna Gaines’ Homebody her masterpiece。 Love her or not, this book is a statement。 。。。more

I love this and her 2 cookbooks, as well as the magazine Magnolia Journal。 I like her outlook and her philosophical nature。 I find it them to have a peacefulness and an uplifting quality, but not over done。

Joanna Gaines helps you identify your decorating style and then apply that to your home。 Since reading it, I can identify someone's decorative preference once I walk into their home。 This book also gives some key elements of each room you should take into consideration while decorating。 This is a helpful and enjoyable book! I was so excited when I got this book to read!! I savoured every single page, photo, word。 I really love Joanna's perspective on home design and it is the place I'll like to be as a new home owner, a home maker and eventually a mother。 I want my family and guests to feel comfortable and I want to create a space that inspire my loved ones to unwind, laugh, feel safe and create memories。 I know that I'll cherish this book for years to come。 I was so excited when I got this book to read!! This has beautiful pictures to reference for remodeling ideas。 Joanna has a sweet purpose to her style that is infused throughout the book。 I got inspiration to make a coat rack I love and to re-do my bathroom textiles。 I really like her emphasis on textures and plants。

When it comes to decorating a home, I am clueless。 This book took a very intimidating subject and made it accessible。 She breaks the home down by room, and gives examples of how to incorporate your family's needs into a beautiful design。 So many gorgeous photos of homes! I liked the book! I did learn a lot。 Joanna offered helpful advice/suggestions and I do have some new ideas for my home。 The only thing I will say is that all the homes in the book were beyond gorgeous and I felt it was less practical for someone with a normal home and not having a large budget。 I wish she had more suggestions for someone looking to improve spaces without a total renovation。

Currently in Texas I felt this was an obligatory coffee table edition。 However, after reading it all, taking notes I feel like this actually left me feeling more narrowed in knowing my true “home” style。 Beautiful photos, an easy ready, and I just love how authentic it is to Joanna’s farmhouse chic style。 Feeling like this is a must have in Texas and if you’re a coffee book collector, outside of fashion icons, this would be a great edition to any coffee table in your home

3。5。 The pictures are very pretty, if things you’ve probably already seen on Fixer Upper。 Like on the show, not a lot of actual tips for how to do things, just the pictures for inspiration and vague instructions like “add some texture!” (No prices or sources or paint colors listed, no instructions on how to physically do anything, I mean。 It’s not that kind of book。)What I thought was better here than in the (pretty few) other books like this that I’ve read, is that it starts out by giving you a 3。5。 The pictures are very pretty, if things you’ve probably already seen on Fixer Upper。 Like on the show, not a lot of actual tips for how to do things, just the pictures for inspiration and vague instructions like “add some texture!” (No prices or sources or paint colors listed, no instructions on how to physically do anything, I mean。 It’s not that kind of book。)What I thought was better here than in the (pretty few) other books like this that I’ve read, is that it starts out by giving you a list of different types of styles with definitions of what they mean (modern, farmhouse, traditional, industrial, etc。), and then a section with overviews of the houses that are included in the book, with a lists of the style mixture that house used — (traditional/boho or whatever)。 Then in each section (it’s divided by types of rooms), it tells you what house each picture came from, so that you can then pick pictures you like, and go back to reference which house, and therefore what styles, they are from。I thought this was really helpful 。。。 or would have been if the organization each easier to use。 The page numbers with corresponding houses were all listed at the front of each section, with the name of the house。 So if you like a picture, you then have to go back to the front of the section to see what house it was from, and then back to the front of the book to see what that house’s style mix was。 It’s a very big, heavy book, so that’s harder than it sounds。 I think they could have made it easier。 Also, not *all* the pictures corresponded to houses listed at the front, and some of the houses that were listed ended up only having one or two photos included。So it gained a point for the idea, but lost half a point for poor execution of that idea。 。。。more

While it was a very visual book, I did not get much out of it for how to actually create these spaces。 It is almost condescending how little information she provides, as if she thinks you're an idiot who needed someone to just tell you to maybe write it down。 Like that was the problem。 Here, here, it's a design template。 That'll fix it。If you're not already a decor expert, this book is merely inspiration, not guidance。 Still, it was fun while it lasted。 Moving on。 While it was a very visual book, I did not get much out of it for how to actually create these spaces。 It is almost condescending how little information she provides, as if she thinks you're an idiot who needed someone to just tell you to maybe write it down。 Like that was the problem。 Here, here, it's a design template。 That'll fix it。If you're not already a decor expert, this book is merely inspiration, not guidance。 Still, it was fun while it lasted。 Moving on。 。。。more
